Scope: Weekend-long national ultimate frisbee tournament featuring elite mixed division play in a state-of-the-art indoor dome

In January 2024, Siege Events partnered with the Irish Flying Disc Association to deliver No Place Like Dome, a high-energy, high-performance ultimate frisbee tournament held entirely inside the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Knock. The event featured top mixed division talent from across Europe and marked a first-of-its-kind use of the dome for a flying disc tournament.

The Objective
Create a standout tournament experience in one of the most unique indoor sporting venues in Europe
Deliver elite operations for players, coaches, and spectators in a compact, fast-paced format
Manage scheduling, setup, and gameplay logistics within a domed venue
Raise the visibility and standard of indoor ultimate in Ireland




Implementation
Venue Setup & Layout
Transformed the indoor pitch to meet WFDF-sized field dimensions and player safety standards
Installed team areas, scoreboards, and tech tables within dome parameters
Coordinated with facility staff to manage air-pressure access, lighting, and timing systems
Tournament Operations
Designed and executed a round-robin + knockout schedule over two full days
Provided on-site coordination for teams, referees, and volunteers
Delivered livestream-ready field setup to support media and social coverage
Event Experience
Managed athlete registration, check-in, and warm-up flow
Created a branded, energetic atmosphere within a minimalist venue environment
Ensured first-aid, hydration, and technical support was always accessible
